How to Eat Pizza While on a Food Plan One way to kill your weight loss progress falls back into old habits, like ordering a nice gooey pizza. Back when I was Long Island Fatz, the pizza was one of my weaknesses. In fact, I could do a whole pie myself, which used to give me some kind of perverted pleasure. (No pie can defeat me!) Never being able to eat pizza can be very daunting. So I had to be creative and get my fix fixed, but in a healthy way. Part control is the key here. You don't want to order, if you can help it, because the usual commercial pies aren't really healthy and there's no such thing as a small pizza (at least not on delivery). Here is the recipe for a veggie pizza that I came up with. Skinny Veggie Pizza 1 6 inch hell pita bread 2 tablespoons pasta sauce of your choice 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese 1/4 cup of sliced boiled mushroom 1/4 cups chopped broccoli florets 1/4 cup of diced green pepper 1/4 cup of spiced yellow pepper 2 tablespoons diced onions Fresh basilica leaves 1 tbsp grated fresh parmesan Saute the vegetables for a few minutes in a teaspoon of olive oil. Empty and put aside. Heat the pita bread in a 425 degree oven for 2-3 minutes, then remove. Spread pasta sauce over pita, then add with vegetables and cheese. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Remove the oven. Tear some basil leaves and sprinkle over the top, then add the parmesan. Here's another one. Green Pizza 1 6 inch hell pita bread 2 tbsp pesto 1 tablespoon crisp bacon hacked 1/4 cup of avocado dice 1/4 cup of baked tomato 3 o'clock shredded mozzarella basil leaves 1 tsp adult parmesan Heat the pitan in a 425 degree oven for 2-3 minutes, then remove. Spread the pesto over the bread. Sprinkle with bacon, avocado and tomato. Top with the mozzarella, and bake 6-8 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Remove the oven. Tear some basil leaves and top pizza with basil and grow parmesan. There you go, perfectly good food and certainly better than anything that comes in a box. The real key here is the size of the part. You feel full, satisfied and do not need a nap. And you don't have to loosen your belt to get it down.
